Tick tock to the tech takeover, as Dublin Tech Summit returns in June

This year’s lineup of speakers at DTS will be talking all things tech – from robotics, cyber security and sustainability, to the link between technology and modern society

The countdown is well and truly on to the 2022 Dublin Tech Summit (DTS) and, with just over four weeks remaining, the organisers are confident they have secured their most impressive lineup of speakers to date. Returning in a physical capacity this year, DTS will take place on June 15th and 16th, 2022, at the RDS, Dublin, with speakers from all over the world set to grace the event’s many stages. This year’s DTS, while obviously tech focused, will also examine topical issues from the war in Ukraine to sustainability, from green tech to cyber security, and so much more.

Among the highlights on June 15th will be Samer Al Moubayed, CEO and Founder of Furhat Robotics, who will bring technology to life with robots Misty and Furhat’s first ever live demo.  For those with an interest in ransomware, and in light of the war in Ukraine and last year’s HSE cyber attack, Tech.eu Founder Robin Wauters will host a cybersecurity panel, welcoming a number of experts. Many of this year’s speakers will be sharing their thoughts and expert insights around cyber defence – a fitting topic at such a crucial period in time.

At the other end of the spectrum, sustainability, fashion and e-commerce will be up for discussion at next month’s event, with a June 16th panel featuring sustainability influencer Grace Beverly, Justine Porterie from Depop, and Dr Amanda Parkes, Co-Founder of Pangaia. DTS is particularly delighted to welcome Grace Beverly to this year’s event. The influencer, author, popcast host and business woman has masterfully demonstrated the power and influence of social media, using it to engage with her 1 million Instagram followers. This has enabled her to successfully launch and scale her direct-to-consumer fitness brands TALA and Shreddy.

Another interesting speaker will be Rent the Runway’s VP, Managing Director and site lead, Dorothy Creaven, who took up her position in 2019 following the announcement that the US company was opening a new technology office in Galway City, with the creation of 150 product and software development jobs. Dorothy has a background in software engineering, tech start-ups and enterprise software and was recognised as one of Ireland’s Top 25 Female Engineers in 2017. She will speak about the importance of sustainability and how technology enables this to be a reality in the world of fashion.

Company founders, CEOs, innovators, leaders, activists and researchers are among the many confirmed speakers for DTS next month, with one stand out change maker being Cornelia Robinson, Global Head of Inclusion & Outreach at Amazon Web Services. Cornelia is responsible for driving new initiatives and programs that bring about positive change in the tech industry and in communities around the world. Undoubtedly, her experience and insight will inspire and encourage others to work towards positive change for the betterment of physical and virtual communities alike.

The two-day event will be a mecca for Irish and international talent, offering attendees an excellent opportunity to learn, network and share in an engaging and welcoming environment. With a fantastic array of speakers, panels and discussions, the summit is certain to ignite conversation, and drive innovation and creativity.
