Mercer & Hole appoints KPMG Partner and former London Head of Family Office and Private Client

Accountants Mercer & Hole has today announced the appointment of Jo Bateson.

She returns to Mercer & Hole’s highly respected Private Client practice as a Partner having trained at the firm and worked as a tax adviser until 2005.

Jo Bateson is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading private client tax advisers, joining KPMG in 2005 as a tax consultant, rapidly rising to partner in 2014 and leading its London family office and private client practice between 2017 and 2023.

Mercer & Hole has a highly regarded private client practice and a strong reputation acting for successful entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses and wealthy individuals. Jo’s appointment builds on that reputation, bringing additional strength and a passion for acting for female founders and leaders in family-owned and managed businesses, tax policy and philanthropy.

Jo will remain a committee member of the UK Business Angel Association and a board member of Philanthropy Impact. She is an active member of various female founder committees and a judge on the 2024 PAM Awards.
